A Chess PieceA Chess Piece
I'm just a chess piece,
On a chess board,
Carrying a gun,
Carrying a sword.
I'm just a chess piece,
With no face,
Killing in pride,
Killing in grace.
I'm just a chess piece,
With no mind;
I'm here to fight,
Yes I'm blind.
I'm just a toy,
In my master's hand;
I do as told,
I don't feel bad.
I'm just a pawn,
In the front line;
I'm born to kill,
I can't resign.
I'm just a bishop,
I'm here to preach,
"Kill thy enemies,"
A lesson I teach.
I'm just a castle,
I bring peace,
With my guns,
In deadly sprees.
I'm just a knight,
Proud and brave;
Under my sword,
No one is safe.
I'm just a queen,
Unequivocally sweet;
Spoils of war,
Are my only treat.
And I'm the king,
Of might and fame;
With the bloody glory,
I adorn my name.
I'm just a chess piece,
I have no mind,
I have no heart,
I have no soul.
Living As DeadWe felt fear to the uttermost:
A man feared more than any ghost,
Whose army of loyalists and allies
Worshiped him and believed his lies;
They were ready to fight in his name,
Voices of treason, faces of shame;
They killed and killed till it was known,
News were spread, corpses were shown;
Despair, then, traveled to every head:
No one is brave, all souls are dead;
Misery was brought to every door:
Bodies are bruised, we are all poor;
The night approached as the sun escaped,
Silence prevailed under the endless shade
Until a boy did say a word,
His head was cut off by a sword;
We cried and cried for his life,
Though we were dead, he was alive;
For a death may change what life means:
Life is more than just blood in veins;
Cause a living person who chose to hide
Worth less than a dead one who didn't abide;
We obeyed and prayed for fear to go,
The boy's only crime was that he said "No."

Time :-/
Ten Years Ago!
Ten years ago, I had nothing to do with arts except as a consumer. But it was that year when I started experimenting with photography after getting my first mobile phone with a built-in camera.
That was probably my first photograph, taken around 2003, with some artistic merit in it (in my opinion). The cheap effect and HDR imitation were added later just before submitting it on dA.
A Belated Happy Birthday to dA
I know I am late, but I just wanted to take the opportunity to share why I like deviantArt so much. I've known this website from 2005, and has been enjoying looking at the great artwork on it since then. Only in 2007 I felt that I can join and maybe put some of my snapshots and doodles on it. It is almost 6 years since I've been here as a member, and I think I've improve a lot, thanks to the influence of all the artists here. There's still a long way ahead for improvement, yet what really matters to me is the feeling enjoyment, and for that, the almost daily dose of deviantArt is still the primary source.
These are some of my favorite master

What gave you the desire to do that?

Are you reading the Randy Pausch book? Or does there just so happen to be another co-existing book with the same title that isn't by him? XD
